Invitation Sirventes

Poem (Canso):

Waken the Leopard from his lair
Loose the Kat, that she may prowl,
Draw the Falcons from the air,
Merge those cries and war-like howls
Bring them to our queen's court now.
Gathered voices in the ring
Shake the stars to make them sing
songs to stir those gathered there.

The Dolphins call, and Bruin's roar
Will move the Hound to lend his bay.
Thier harmony will cause to soar
The songs that Ravens often say,
(Tho' dressed as Cranes they often may!)
And then the Gods that hear their plea,
Who turn the tide of battles sea,
Will bless this host that sings of war.

Now Friend, with speed go out and call
From Sherwood's Forest he that sings,
And let that Tiger stout and tall
Bring Goodly tunes of wicked kings,
of crafty priests, or other things
That please the Queen of Noble Pride
That fiercely stand by true friend's side,
But freely give largesse to all.

I tell you this without a doubt
Of speaking words I know untrue:
Those absent surely will miss out
On rousing song and tempting brew
And count themselves amoung the few
That did not heed this call today
To come to our Atlantian Puy,
And see what all the fuss is about!
