Refrain:
Fame and Glory abound,
Found true love,
Won the Crown.
Listen well as I tell of his song.
I'll sing of a knight of great passion,
Of honor and skill, and renown.
His fame it is known, his duty has shown
With service to Kingdom and Crown.
What Knight can give more than his honor?
What service is there for the bold?
What duty the brave, but keen-edged blade
Stout heart, and right arm made of stone?
(Refrain)
What man has more courage, pray tell me
Than he who has lost love he's known?
His very sou's fire, his heart, his desire,
And managed to go on alone?
What man has more luck than the wanderer,
Who's fortune has found love again?
Not once in his life, this man is blessed twice
With true love that burns within him.
(Refrain*)
What songs may be sung to a hero?
What tales may be told of a King?
All honor's aren't known, all dutues aren't shown,
what stories are still left to sing?
So listen and know then of Brion
And honor sweet Anna his queen.
Let glories not fade, or deed's go unpaid,
Let memories remain fresh and green.
(Refrain)
What gift can be given for Friendship?
What token can ever ring true?
What songs to a King, what words do you sing,
What tales may give great men thier due?
But when living's daylight has left us,
And each man must stand and be judged,
Let each of us pray, the tales that they say,
Are of honor, and duty, and love.
(Refrain)
*Special Refrain:
Fame and Glory abound,
Lost a Love, won the Crown,
Listen well, as I tell of his song.
This piece was a commission written at the request of Duke Michael of Bedford, (during his last reign as King of Atlantia) for Duke Brion Tarragon, who was at the time of the pieces premiere, King of the East. I have yet to name my boon for this work, and therefore have the distinct pleasure of holding something over Duke Michael!
Duke Brion lost his first lady-wife in an automobile accident many years ago, while they sat the thrones of Atenveldt. Duchess Anna, his second wife is a woman of grace, and great compassion.
